Dorchester Y-Type
Notes | One of the earliest Durotrigan coins. Struck on a semi-globular flan with a plain obverse. The reverse consists of a horizontal bar through the centre with an angled bar above. The angle of the bar changes from acute to almost 90 degrees on different reverse dies. Most coins are in the range 1.53g to 1.67g but there are two outliers:
Listed as Excessively rare (2 to 5 known examples) in ABC, it's actually only Extremely Rare (6 to 15). The catalogue lists eight coins, one of which might be the CCI-09.3492 listed in “Divided Kingdoms” |
